Friday, May 6th – Saturday, May 7th, 2022

This volunteer would be responsible for catering to teams and making sure they have everything they need.  The busiest times would be from 3pm to 8pm on Friday, but there would be plenty of opportunities early on Saturday. Benefits include VIP access to BBQ teams.

Garbage Collector
This volunteer would be responsible for collecting bagged garbage from teams and getting it to the dumpster.  Looking for collection every couple of hours on Saturday morning and once or twice late Friday night.

Team Contact
This ongoing job would be responsible for keeping track of teams, answering questions, and making sure all teams have what they need in advance of the contest.  This is likely 8 hours of work for an organized person.

Judge Contact
This ongoing job would be responsible for keeping track of judges, answering questions, and making sure all judges have what they need in advance of the contest.  This is likely 4 hours of work for an organized person.

Utility Vehicles/Golf Carts needed
Looking for 2-3 utility vehicles for use by volunteers to get around the event on Friday and Saturday.

Marketing
Looking for a talented individual to help market and promote the Route 66 Smokeout to ensure it is a premiere KCBS event.  If this is your thing, we need your help.

Dwight Welcome Center

(Ambler-Becker Texaco Gas Station)

.

Hosts (May-October)

Every year, Dwight is visited by thousands of tourists traveling Route 66. The Ambler-Becker Texaco station serves as Dwight’s Welcome Center along Route 66. The station is staffed by volunteers who take 2-hour shifts greeting and assisting visitors, many of whom are from outside the U.S. If you enjoy meeting new people, love talking about Dwight, or get excited about seeing classic cars, this will be a fun experience for you. To volunteer, contact Village Hall. You can also ask any current volunteer to let you “sit in on” a shift while they are on duty before signing up for your own shift. You may volunteer by yourself or with a friend.
