We encourage every member business to encourage their staff to become active members of the community. Dwight has many opportunities for everyone to contribute their strengths to the common good – whether it be coaching in the Dwight Youth Baseball League, planting flowers, working at the Welcome Center, or coordinating a blood drive.
Where possible, some employers in town have provided incentive programs for their employees to facilitate and reward their work in the community. Some examples include:
- Allowing staff to use two or three of their on-duty hours each week to perform volunteer tasks.
- Having staff submit their community service time, with an award/reward issued for every 100 hours of service.
