Dwight’s first public library has been chosen as this year’s design. The building was located on South Prairie Street where the Fire Station sits today. Funds were raised for the Spanish style building under the leadership of the Dwight Woman’s Club with assistance from several individuals and community organizations.
In 1926, the library was dedicated and presented to the Village of Dwight debt-free. When it opened in January of 1927, there were 1679 books on the shelves.
